I work as an assistant to what is essentially the COO of a non-profit organization. I need to be able to track the progress/status of tasks she has assigned to myself as well as others in the organization, and keep her updated. I would like this process to focus attention (mine and others) on outstanding items, due dates, manage the boss' work calendar better and become more cognizant of things I can handle in her stead. Any suggestions for tools/processes that might be helpful?
FYI, we have tried the task option in MS Outlook. This proved to be too cumbersome given the number of people. It should also be noted, that although some projects may be tracked, there are a multitude of singular and insulated tasks that I must follow through and track to completion.
