I got ahold of both of Hemphill's books - "Taming the Paper Tiger at Home/the Office".
Funny, I've worked around paper alot, as a CPA, business owner, volunteer, mom, etc. In fact, people admire my organizational skills. But Barbara Hemphill, the author, has shown me how to *feel* so much more in control of the paper flow that surrounds me. Her system of managing each piece of paper by putting it, or the information on it, into one of 7 places provided me with such comforting results the very first day I used it to open my mail! Not only am I immediately keeping fewer sheets of paper; I am more confident that each piece I *do* keep is in a place where it will get attention when - and only when - it next needs to. I used to just leave this stuff in my inbox and reshuffle it occasionally. Another benefit has been that the papers I need to have with me for a future meeting, errand, etc. are exactly where I know how to find them - and not still on my desk when I need them elsewhere.
Based on my experience with her book, I am definitely going to order the PT software for the 30-day trial. Is there an advantage to ordering that through you as opposed to the PT website? What is included in your "Efficiency Makeover" and is there a flat fee for that?
I am still interested in integrating scanned images into my paper storage system.
Thanks,
D.R.
