I know you wrote a couple months ago, but here's my input.
I love photography, but I too am about 4 years behind in organizing mine. What I do is use the
sleeve type photo albums and put photos in date order. I leave them in the packages from developing
and then put them in date order. Right now I have 2 large plastic under the bed containers full of
dated packages of photos. When I write on the back of them I also write a number that corresponds to
a number I put on the outside of the envelope of negatives. Then when looking at the photo album,
if I want a reprint of a photo, I simply look at the back at what package number it's in and go to
that package and find the negative. (Each roll is a separate package.) As for dating pictures, since
the packages have the dates on the outside, I can tell about what date it took place. I take a roll
of pictures every month or two, (I have 2 children, 4yrs and 18 mos), so the date is within a month or
two of exact. It's a lot of work, but worth it to me. I have recently started trying to get caught up,
and it was suggested that I start with the current and work back, so I started from May and have been
working to present, then plan on jumping back to Jan then working up. I think this will work better
than taking each package and going back. Hope this helps, good luck!! Connie
