In reply to dorm bunk beds. The name for what you want is a loft bed. I make lofts here in North Carolina. It's fairly simple construction. I got my plans from "Bunk Bed Bob". If you search for "bunk beds" and look for companies making "Paul Bunyon" beds you can find pictures of the beds.A loft is the PB without lower rails. I hope this helps. TS
