As stupid as it may sound... I started with my linnen closets. From there, I decided to buy an old book shelf, and "fix it up". Garage sales are a great deal, I baught one that had scratches, and bad paint. I filled in the scratches with a plastic wood product, and then I spay pained it. Large book shelves are great. You can use some shelves for display, and others for books. I hope that this suggestion isn't too vague, but I know that every little bit of advice helps.
