I have a desk that my wife got me years ago. The only problem with it is that the file drawers are kind of el cheapo and only open out about halfway (that is, when the drawer is fully extended, about half your file space is back inside the desk). Needless to say, this cuts the effective capacity way down, since the stuff that goes to the back of the drawer stays hidden there unless I empty out the front.
The desk is sturdy and attractive otherwise, so I got the idea of replacing the existing tracks with a better set. It seems as if it ought to work, but then as my mom used to say, "Famous last words ... 'It seemed like a good idea at the time.'" Has anybody tried this? Does it work?
