I am currently training doulas in our area to receive their certification, it's a really nice support to have......take care. : : : Good for you in OB - in my "spare" (ha ha) time I volunteer as a doula/labor support for couples at our church. Love doing it - not so sure I'd like to be doing it as an OB nurse - best of all possible worlds for me. Maybe I'll see you at Slob Sisters - if I can figure it out! Take care : : : : Yes, the RN is for Registered Nurse - 5 years in Pediatrics (Neuro/GI/GU/Respiratory) - more info than you probably needed, but - thanks for asking!! : : : : : : : : : : : The Rubbermaid container holds about 14 rolls of paper (or more), plus it has 2 trays to hold tape, scissors, ribbon, etc so everything is right at your fingertips. (only bummer to the trays is that you can only put really short things on them or the lid won't close). As for bows, I got rid of almost all of them, and I use the curling ribbon (Current, Inc. sells boxes with 8 different colors at really reasonable prices - you store the ribbon right in the box - they have a little hole so you can just pull out what you need - no more unraveled rolls!) or flat "pull up" kind. I tried one of those "bow makers" once, and I never did get it right, so I tossed that too. Any bows that I did keep I put in a separate small box to keep them from getting mooshed. Bags are wonderful - and they're easily re-used (just remember to take the name tags off first)! : : : : : : : I gave up on bows, and started buying the flat ones that you make, with the exception of Xmas since they all get used so fast.Another idea is to buy ribbon in bulk, at a party supply house, you can buy about 500 yards for the same price as 20 yards at Walmart. You might also find it where they sell balloons. Anyhow, buy coordinating colors, ie. red,white,blue, green,red, primary colors, pastels, or whatever and then curl several of the colors together. These cost about 2-3.00 in stores already made up, pennies for you to make, and take little time. : : : : : : : My question was, how much paper does the Rubbermaid container holding, and how are you keeping the bows from getting mooshed that are already made? : : : : : : : I've also become a "bag" gift wrapper, little time, quick, cute, and creative. : : : : : : : Anyone have ideas to keep the rolls from unrolling and getting bent other than a rubber band? Right now I'm using my daughter hair bands :) Would love to hear others ideas....... : : : : : : : : SUCCESS!! Thanks for your suggestions. I now have ONE Rubbermaid container with all of our giftwrap supplies, and my closet is now functional. All of my plan-ahead gifts are on the top shelf (out of little one's sight), and I found that most of the congestion was because of TWO shelves of empty boxes!! (Guess it's my heritage - "Hey, that's a good box - don't throw it!") I did throw all of the boxes, plus one lawn-sized trash bag full of mooshed ribbons. Glad you were "kidding" about the toasters :) : : : : : : : : : : As far as the giftwrap is concerned....there are some GREAT organizers with this in mind. : : : : : : : : : : You might be interested in checking out one of the "Hot Picks" in the Library from last year:http://www.123sortit.com/resources/hotplib.html & select "Spring 1997" There is a product called "Pet Pockets" -- the same company produces an organizer for Gift Wrap that is made in a similar fashion - great design, well constructed & reasonably priced. All the contact info is listed on the page. : : : : : : : : : : Now if you have *heaps* of gift wrap to organizer, Rubbermaid also makes a trimline container that will fit under your bed for this purpose. You can find it at your local Eagle Hardware store. I would suggest that you categorize your giftwrap & "label" the containers so you know immediately what the contents are as well (label 5 sides so you (or anyone else) can see it from any direction without creating a mess while searching for what you really need :) : : : : : : : : : : Hope this helps ....& maybe you want to make a pact with yourself not to purchase anymore until you use what you have?
