Tonya ...you are right on the money! Sort by size range/sex & season. Go get some "Rubbermaid" *clear* flat organizers -- these are the most durable products on the market for a "good seal." Label the outside othe container with the size/sex/contents. If you are limited on space at least sort them by size/sex now. put the "oldest" size on the bottom & break the container in to "seasonal piles."
Do you have an attic or crawl space? Garage space? These items do not have to remain in your "romantic setting" :) Storing these in the above mentioned areas are *precisely* why you need to invest in the Rubbermaid products -- even if you do see something less expensive -- it's not worth it in the long run if critters & the elements can penetrate your container.
Another place to store these is "under the bed" there are Rubbermaids on wheels for this type of storage too!
