Aloha Sarah....

First of all BRAVO to you for posting your question!!!!! You have no idea how many *adults* struggle w/the same challenge -- so hopefully your question will help the tens of thousands of people who visit this site!

Sarah, first of all you need to understand that *inspiration* will get you further than *motivation*. Why? Because it is *inspiration* that will be the constant reminder of *WHY you are doing it in the first place. Getting motivated to clean your room is an "in the moment" decision. The inspiration to KEEP your room clean will be the driving force that makes you put your clothes in the laundry when you take them off; put your things away when you are done using them; & regularly do a full sweep of your belongings ...donating what you no longer use or need.

Sarah, focus on the *feeling* you had as you described "I Love it when my room is clean & organized" ...the *feeling* IS the inspiration to ensure you attain the goal.

I hate to sound redundant, yet there is NO MAGICAL TRICK in attaining an organized room ...the real *secret* lies within a simple 10-15 maintenance step performed *every* day once you design a set space for everything.

Organization just doesn't *happen* -- I spend 10-15 minutes everyday putting away any stragglers that may have inadvertantly been left out during the course of the day.

For a 13 yr. old you pose a very wise question & I commend you on seeking the answer at such an early age.

In closing I would like to remind you of the Wizard of Oz when the good witch tells Dorothy: "The answer was always WITHIN you my dear." *Your* inspiration to keep a clean, organized room is also "WITHIN you my dear!"

Wishing you MUCH success & I encourage you to post a response to the question YOU provoked within me to ask our visitors. Mahalo Nui Loa!

Much Aloha,
