The easiest way is to take the sweater & fold it in 1/2 down the middle...tuck the sleeves in going straight down & fold in 1/2 again.

The best place to store them is the top shelf of your closet. Stack the sweaters about 4 high. They sell closet organizers that *clip* onto the closet shelf that can assist as well. This provides a sturdy separation between sweater groups. Keep the ones you use least often on the bottom. Group the sweaters by play, dressy or work.
