Aloha Sarah....

OK, for starters maybe what you want to consider is *grouping* everything in the bedroom so you can *visually see* what is what & what is whose. Take the appropriate steps to return items to their place of origin & put them in *their own home/space*

I m not sure based on your post, if you have a home office in the bedroom??? Obviously computer equipment is not clutter, & if you have to constantly setup/tear down ...it's a complete waste of tiem!

Do you have a desk in the home? If so convince hubby THAT is precisely where *equipment* belongs. Would it make sense to remove ALL his tools from his space in the name of neatness...to have nothing in sight? I don't think so.

Maybe a compromise would be to use *computer equip covers* ...all the same style/cover if the "tools of your trade" are an annoyance.

And here is a crazy idea for you...yet whatever it takes! Come up w/a theme gathering & entertain UPSTAIRS!!
Keep it fun & get creative!

The company would have to pass thru the downstairs (so that cannot become the dumping ground) & if he feels everything needs to be orderly...then SOMETHING will HAVE to happen w/the bedroom.

My last comment is there is a HUGE difference between Neat ....& Organized. Neat means only certain areas *appear* to be organized & tidy....the rest has been stashed in a junk drawer, junk closet...or junk room. This is indicative of ...a lack of decisions...period. Organized means EVERYTHING has a place & is in it!

Good luck Sarah...& feel free to share this post w/hubby -- I'd be happy to respond to him as well :)
