Aloha Kim,

Hmmmm, I believe someone posted a *poll* on here once before. If you cannot see it in the treads listed below-- give our Archives a shot in the Library section.

<<< I'm curious: what's the average number of clothing items a person
keeps? How many pants, shirts, bras, socks, etc. I know I'm having difficulty organizing because I have so much, but am not sure what a "typical" organized person has.

Meanwhile Kim, you mentioned you have difficulty because YOU have so much . That is the *first* place you need to take a deep hard look.

Keep in mind you wear only 20% of your clothes 80% of the time. Sound familiar???? So the key is to "let go" of all that you are NOT using, have been *hoping* to use (when it comes back in style - NOT- they always change *something); items you are waiting over a yr to fit in once again & even items you bought on the-spur-of-the-moment ...& they have the price tags on them 6 months later.

You may want to get together w/a friend who is very honest & someone you trust to give you an honest opinion of even if the item looks good on you. You may need to chalk up what you discover to a "lesson learned" & refrain from future purchases if you are having difficulty at this stage.

Donate the excess to a charity, childrens home, women-helping-women etc...there are TONS of organizations who will GRATEFULLY use what we all have stored away & never wear.

Last thing...until you get this under control...use the rule: "one in--one out" for ANY purchases you proceed to make.

Hope something here helps!

Much Aloha,
