Aloha Peggy....

I'm so sorry to hear about both of your parents first of all. No doubt you have a huge & sentimental task ahead of you & my heart goes out to you!

I know what you are saying , as I had to do the same thing 2 years ago when my mom passed away. I also had to fly 6000 miles to do it & my older sister assisted as well.

First of all....we donated ALL clothing to a shelter ....all books went to a library. Music went to a Goodwill store...furnishings were part of what my mom wanted to go to an "estate sale" & the monies collected went to her church...which was always there for her because the kids were sooooo spread out.

Over the yrs. my mom KEPT insisting that we tell her what we wanted -- so it would be saved for us (or taken sooner) It boiled down to *small sentimental things* that my sister & I grouped "based by chiled". I do not no if you are an only child -- if you are not -- I highly recommend contacting any *close* family members or friends & first see if there is anything they would like.

When it came to cards, pictures & correspondance ...we separated it by child & sent everyone a box of their own.

<<< I don't know what to do with my parents college yearbooks

## is there a family friend, member or grandchild that may want these???? If not..& I do not want to sound harsh...yet if you nor anyone else wants them...then it is better to "let them go".

<<## have you tried ebay or an estate sale????

<<< I also have several unframed paintings my mother painted and I don't know what to do with them.

## pick a few that you REALLY -- see if any family/friends want a momento???....donate others to an orphanage...childrens home....nursing home... & if you are still left with more, I would suggest putting the rest in an estate sale. Yet, personally, *donating* them to the above listed areas will bring others Joy & you as well...knowing they ARE being enjoyed by someone less fortunate.

For the rest of the home...the best thing you can do is take "1 room at a time". I would suggest picking a room that you *feel* would make you emotional, physically & spiritually more at peace.

Feel free to post a msg here along the way. My apologies for the delay in response ...yet I was on the Mainaland for business & returned really ill...then developed walking pneumonia & was further challenged by tearing a tendon for my hamstrings & popping my back out to boot! It has been a heck of a time -- yet I know I am moving through it all as I need too :)

Hope something here helps!

Much Aloha,
