: Aloha Linda....

: Well it sounds like you are off to a great start!! Good for you!!! :)

: << I currently organize by putting all blouses, skirts, pants, dresses and structure pieces together and further by keeping all colors grouped together, all whites grouped together, all pinks, blues etc.

: ##If you want to take this a step further -- I would highly recommend separating the groupings into play clothes, business attire & dressy items. In this manner you will create the habit of going *directly8 to the area of your closet based on what the activity is. You are right on target by grouping this far...just take it to another level as mentioned above 7 I am sure you will find it even more organized to suit your needs/style :)

: <: ## You got it!! Sounds like you covered alot in your original purge. Now get *really honest* w/yourself & answer "When did I last where this?" "Am I hanging onto it for other reasons?" "Does it fit my current Lifestyle?"

: << I have been using a hanging shoe bag to keep my nylons in, but I am thinking about putting my shoes there and using ziplock bags for the nylons.

: ## Yes! I keep nylons in baggies all the time based on color. {Course I need to admit, that here in the islands -- they do not get used as often as on the Mainland too} They are kept in a *small* drawer for lingerie.

: <<< scarves are on a scarf hanger and belts are on a belt hanger. I am clearing shelves that have kept shoes and will place t-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts etc.

: ## GREAT!!! this will make the *visual location* much easier for you! Check into some "shelf dividers" to keep things neatly stacked (The Container Store is a good resource for this!)

: <<: ##Hmmm, can you tuck items like handbags or *specialty* items there that are only used 1-2x a year??? In this manner you will gain maximum use -- from a useless shelf :)

: <: ## Pull these items out of the closet totally! Then take a look at the closet & see how you feel. As you stated, they are older items that you have not chosen to part w/yet...if it is because of *sentimental value* or something you may want to give tyo your kids, or neices when they are older, place them in a protective trunk or Rubbermaid container & store it elsewhere (just don't forget you have them & WHY you are choosing to keep them!) :)

: <<: ## Make sure you are not using those older metal hangers...the plastic tubular ones that are out today are great!! You can take it one step further & even color code your hangers based on the uses of the clothes....blue for business, white for dressy & burgundy for play clothes...(as an aexample) It really gives it an organized look & makes hanging clothes in their proper place aven a tad easier!

: Hope this covers more for you -- feel free to drop a msg here if you have any other questions!

: Note: My apologies for taking so long to get back to you...I have been on the Mainland for business 2x this month!
