You can pick up a *standard size* bedframe for about $25 ...better yet check your local papers & see if anyone is selling one ...that would even be less expensive. Be prepared to leave the new frame there when you leave -- if it makes the transistion easier to the powers that be at the dorm. Because you are in a dorm ...I am going to also presume that dismantling the frames to put the matteresses directly on the floor would not work because then you would have to store the frames & we all know dorm rooms are *spatially challenged*. Another option would be to see if there are any *single rooms* that have a bed/bedframe that are closer in height to either one of your beds/bedframes.
