making one bed out of two

I live in a dorm room and my roommate is moving out to a frat house. I will not have a roommate for the rest of the year and I want to put the two beds together, I have one problem, both beds are not the same heigth. The smallest bed has to be raised 11 inches in order for it to meet the other bed. I've thought about using cinder blocks but I don't know how strudy that would be especailly because I'm a very restless sleeper. If anyone has a better, safer and low cost way to do this I would forever be greatful.
